Physical theatre as a field of performative arts is a relatively modern phenomenon. However, the origins of this phenomenon lie in antiquity. Over the centuries, kinesthetic codes (norms and rules of behavior - including its movement aspect) have changed many times, but as a rule, they were socially and culturally conditioned.

Lex Scherbakov proposes to consider physical theatre as a method of pre-verbal expression. The project "ALLOWING SPACE - Suche nach einer individuellen Sprache des körperlichen Ausdrucks" offers a series of workshops of physical theatre and performance. Participants will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the basic principles of physical theatre, to immerse themselves in a world of sensory and kinesthetic sensations, to touch in practice the peculiarities of bodily expression. Also at the workshops there will be an opportunity to pay attention to your own kinesthetic portrait (a set of habitual movements) and, if you wish, create an improvisational solo etude based on this portrait.
